Chef Mark Eastman is the owner and operator of Chefs’ Haven, a gourmet store and learning center for novice and experienced cooks. Chef Mark has spent over 30 years in the food industry. He specializes in preparing fish, meat, sauces, and soups. Chef Mark is passionate about sharing his knowledge with others and opened Chefs’ Haven to share his knowledge with home cooks. He teaches home cooks the proper techniques to use when preparing food and provides them with the necessary tools and ingredients to be successful at home.
Prior to opening Chefs’ Haven, Chef Mark worked in various area restaurants including: Brasserie Perrier, a four Michelin star restaurant in Philadelphia; The Dilworthtown Inn in West Chester; and The Gables Restaurant in Chadds Ford. Earlier in his career, Chef Mark served as the Executive Chef at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) in Saratoga Springs, New York. As the Executive Chef he prepared meals for various celebrities including, among countless others: Frank Sinatra; Marilyn Manson; U2; Aerosmith; and The Dave Matthews Band. He also catered galas for organizations such as: the Philadelphia Orchestra; the New York City Ballet; and the New York City Opera, among others. Chef Mark also worked as a food stylist for Emeril Lagasse.
In addition to his work in restaurants and for the SPAC, Chef Mark is an artisan baker.
Currently, Chef Mark is exploring cooking with plant-based foods and diets. Chef Mark will integrate the principles of these diets into his upcoming cooking classes and the prepared foods that will be offered at Chefs’ Haven.
Chef Mark graduated from the New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont. He credits his mother, Susan McGiver, with nurturing his love of cooking and helping him develop his talent.
